So I'm learning how to surf. I'm pretty bad at it, but that's okay. The water is pretty chilly here on the central coast so wetsuits need to be worn. praise the Lord for my wonderful friend Belinda who so graciously let me borrow her REALLY NICE wetsuit. I ended up buying one so I don't have to always borrow, but still. So my first day out was a blast. The people i went with were nothing but encouraging. Jenny, Tiffany, and D-Shwaig plus my new friends Rich and Eric....THank you Jesus for good fellowship. We prayed before heading out to the water and it was incredible. The waves weren't too great, but I was only riding white water :) I was frustrated at first because I wasn't getting it. My balance was off and I couldn't figure it out....then i got tossed and my board flew....it wasn't fun. i took a short break and then went back out feeling slightly discouraged, but then i was trying every wave and i got up a few times to my knees and one foot. i was excited to get my one foot up :) i'm excited to get back out there. my arms are sore, but it was worth it. we were swimming w/ sea lions and HUGE whales were jumping...it was incredible. I am amazed by God...I see the ocean and it's grandiosity blows me away. God spoke it into being. wild! Thank you Jesus for your love and protection and for blessing me with fellowship with other believers. i love you Lord!
