Okay so it's been awhile. I don't always find time to write... but since I am out of it somewhat due to my wisdom teeth being removed thursday morning I will write :) Last Sunday I accomplished (solely by God's grace & strength) one of my goals I've had for a long time. I successfully completed my first 1/2 marathon. I'd love to do a full marathon next fall. I really never thought it possible to run 10 miles let alone 13.1. I was wrong. Our bodies are capable of so much more than we give God credit for. It's absolutely incredible. I complain about a 2 hour car ride to visit my parents, but i ran for 2 hours straight. weird. I took a gnarly fall about mile 8 and cut up my knees and hand pretty good, but the blood running down the legs made me feel like a champion. I started training for this race in August just after the triathlon. I really enjoyed the long runs with the exception of a few where I felt like my legs were going to just detach themselves from my body. I have really fallen in love with training. I love how much it ties to my spiritual walk with Christ. At times it's easy, but the majority of the time it's tough. When you slack off... it's that much harder to get going again. When you are diligent the reward is sweet when the runs are enjoyable much like the time with my Lord when I have remained close to Him. My runs have hills and valleys. When I get to the top of the hill it's amazing and I feel accomplished. I love it. There is a high that I get when I am running well and I love it. I also have days that are anything but enjoyable, but out of discipline I keep going. I most definitely have those days in my walk with CHrist... I keep going because I know that He is worthy even when I don't feel like it. All in all... I am now looking for another race. Push myself a little more... anyone want to join me! Possibly the Disneyland Marathon next september. We will see :) As for now I will continue to lay on the couch while my mouth heals. I am rather puffy and uncomfortable. Praise the Lord for vicodin... except when it makes you sick. Back to sleep for now. The Lord is good! Keep on running the race!
